About us

Financial information without the sales pitch

Net Financial Service Center is a small publisher of consumer finance guides, operated by Sentinel Holdings I LLC. We explain how money works in ordinary language. We are not a bank, not a lender, and not a credit repair company.

Why this site exists

Most financial writing on the internet has one of two problems. Either it assumes you already know what an APR is, a revolving balance is, and why utilisation matters — or it is a thin wrapper around a product someone is being paid to sell you.

We wanted a third option: guides written for someone reading about this for the first time, that explain the mechanics honestly, including the parts that make a product look worse. If the answer to your question is “do not borrow,” that is what the guide says.

Everything is free and none of it is behind an email form. The account you can create is genuinely optional — it saves your reading progress and nothing else.

Our rules

Four things we will not do

These are not marketing lines. They are the editorial rules the guides are written against, and they are the reason some pages are shorter and less exciting than they could be.

We do not invent statistics

You will not find a made-up figure about how much the average reader saves. Where we use numbers, they are worked examples showing arithmetic, and we say so on the page. If we cannot support a claim, we do not make it.

We do not invent people

No fabricated customer quotes, no stock-photo testimonials with invented names, no fake review badges. Every photograph on this site is a licensed stock image of people we have never met, and we never pretend otherwise.

We do not sell your details

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information to marketing lists. The debt calculator runs entirely in your browser — the balances you type are never transmitted to us at all. See our privacy policy.

We do not pretend to be a lender

We make no credit decisions, set no rates, approve nothing and lend nothing. Where we introduce you to an independent provider at your request, we say clearly that is what is happening.

How we are paid

Advertising and introductions

This site may carry advertising, and where you ask to be introduced to an independent provider, that provider may pay us a fee if you go on to do business with them. That payment comes from the provider, not from you, and it does not change the terms you are offered.

What that does not buy

No advertiser gets to change the content of a guide, remove a warning, or be described more favourably than the facts support. If a product category is generally a bad idea for most people, the guide says so regardless of who advertises on the page.

This arrangement is common on consumer finance sites and it creates a real conflict of interest. We manage it by disclosing it plainly, by keeping editorial decisions separate from commercial ones, and by never presenting an introduction as a recommendation.

Not sure where to start?

Start with the money you keep, not the money you owe. The emergency fund guide takes about six minutes and it is the one that changes the rest.
